Sipsy Seasoning FAQs
What kinds of Seasoning does Sipsy sell?
We sell Herbs and Spices and some in between.
- Spices refer to products used to flavor foods that come from the root, stem, seed, fruit, or flower of a plant.
-
Herbs are also used to flavor foods, but come from the leafy green part of a plant.
Owww! You like how I just taught you something, dontcha?
Why should I buy Sipsy Herbs and Spices?
Uhh, because they’re DOPE!
Well, you really don’t have to. I’m certain the store brands are working just fine sitting on those shelves 8 months—waiting for you to buy that ground pepper that’s lost most of its potency. YUP. SHADDDEE!
Herbs and Spices are typically higher in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties—get you some!
Although, I’m no doctor—you could, with time, replace some medications with herbs/spices. (Just saying 😉)
Why the small packaging?
Herbs and Spices generally lose their true potency over time—as everything in LIFE. When purchasing spices and herbs, ask yourself or the cook in the home: “How long do you think this will last us?”
If they say more than a month—DOWNSIZE, beloved. You shouldn’t be aiming to have a cabinet buddy—you should aim for a seasoning you will use and reap the benefits of while it’s fresh.
Have you ever tasted freshly ground MALABAR BLACK PEPPER? Exactly!! I’m here to help. Bring it in and get this LOVE!
How long do I keep my Spices?
- Spices and Herbs in their true form—UNPROCESSED and stored correctly—can last 3–4 years.
- Ground, minced, or separated Spices and Herbs can last 1–2 years—BUTTT!! My humble suggestion: after 6 months, consider buying a fresh batch and replacing what you have.
- Most people store their spices near the stove—this will drastically reduce shelf life.
Where do you all source your Herbs and Spices?
Everywhere! If a region or specific place is known to have the best, that is where we source. But all our blends—curries, adobos, etc.—are hand-blended. They’re Sipsy’s own RECIPE/MASHUP.
Many of our herbs and spices are Fair Trade, ensuring growers receive equitable wages. Every product lists its country of origin and any FDA-required information.
See, they’re not like us. PERIODT!
What should I do if I have an allergy?
Pay close attention to warnings and countries of origin! You know you better than we do. When in doubt, go without and do not place your order before talking to us! Send us an email at Info@SipsyByRi.com, and we can try to work around your allergies. We’re as accommodating as possible.
